Hiya, kids! Hope you’re all doing well. My creative projects have stalled a bit recently due to circumstances beyond my control. I’m currently gearing up for some major surgery and have had to move back in with my parents in preparation for the recovery time. Going to be a wild ride this fall!
On the upside, the Multiversal Gamebook is around 33% complete, with more than half of all paths fully fleshed out from beginning to end. We’ve still got about 60 more links to go, and then it’s on to finalizing the language and really making that prose shine.
For those of you in the dark, my Multiversal Gamebook is an interactive fiction project, similar to a visual novel. You play as a ranger, a posthuman agent of the Nexus. Equipped with your environment suit, laser baton, and Multiversal Compass, you make your way through parallel dimensions in time and space, rescuing the innocent, fighting evil, and bringing peace and harmony to the Multiverse.
The whole thing is kind of a mash-up of Doctor Who and Star Trek, with some Biblical themes sprinkled in to keep things interesting. The style is humorous punctuated by moments of grief and horror, similar to Douglas Adams’s Hitchhiker’s Guide.
Note: If you haven’t read Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, what kind of science fiction reader are you? Get on it, lol!
I’ve also been busy with grant-writing and tutoring, expanding my business so that I now have about four clients in total. Which is nice.
My pal Matth Atwood, the visionary behind Solscapes, came to me recently with a proposition for a series of Bubblegum-Man comics. More on that as it develops…
And that’s about all for now. Feel free to like, comment, and share my newsletter with whoever you deem worthy.
