We can all feel like God’s not with us at times. I know I’ve been guilty of tunnel vision, being so focused on my problems, I couldn’t see the solution staring me right in the face. Like that time I went drinking with those three girls from college and didn’t make a move on any of them. Hel-lo.
Anyway, I hope you’re having a spectacular holiday season! As of this writing, Thanksgiving is a couple days away. I’m cozy up in my new apartment, surrounded by LEGO and living my best life. More or less. I’ve been working part-time as a tutor in the evenings and a grant-writer during the day, still dreaming of that regular nine-to-five.
I’ve applied to hundreds of jobs since 2019, and I decided this year that if I get to 500 without a single bite, I’ll stop and just go into business for myself. What that will look like, who knows. I won’t be quitting any of my current gigs, that’s for sure. I just won’t be filling out any applications either.
Now technically, I’ve had two bites already: My tutoring gig at C2 Education and my grant-writing for Right Hand Foundation. But those are part-time, so they don’t count for this.
Between those gigs and my writing, I’ve been swamped. Still, I make time for the important things in life. Like family, friends, and watching DUNE in the theaters.
As far as writing goes, I currently have a few comics on sale via Indyplanet. Secret Operations is a series of minicomics featuring superheroes dealing with everyday life — mostly — in Atlanta, while Bubblegum-Man Adventures is a graphic novel and more of a straightforward superhero yarn. Keep that page bookmarked, as we’re going to have some more comics featured in the new year, hopefully by February.
In the meantime, drop me a line and let me know how you’re doing. And remember, minicomics make great stocking stuffers!
Just sayin…
