October 2022
Y’all time got away from me before I could write this up. In any case, I spent Halloween in a Superman costume, waiting to give LEGO minifigs to trick-or-treaters that never came. On the upside, I got to play Savage Kingdoms with my friends on Roll20. Fun times!
Savage Kingdoms is a d20 system similar to Dungeons and Dragons but with simplified dice rolls and more detailed mechanics for a grittier, realistic feel. Yes, you can die of dysentery in this game.
You can play just about any character you can think of within the bounds of fantasy, though keep in mind the setting is low-magic, high-mysticism, leaning more towards Game of Thrones in aesthetics than World of Warcraft.
Things have been crazy at work. I’m over at Georgia State again, this time in the Dean’s Office for the College of Nursing and Health Professions. We just had our big Haverty Lecture event, which was fun. Had COVID for about a week, now I’m back in action.
This month, I’m focusing on losing weight, setting goals, and going to therapy.
The writing is going well. After a few false-starts, I’ve settled on a project to focus on. More on that as it develops.
